2014 Baptist Children’s Homes Annual Food Drive

April 22 through May 7, the UBA Missions Resource Center was the collection site for the Annual Food Roundup for the Baptist Children’s Homes. "We serve as many as 700,000 meals and snacks throughout the year! Consider that BCH operates care locations in 19 North Carolina communities. Thank you for making sure that children, many who know what it means to truly be hungry, had enough to eat."

The 2014 collection was tremendous. Thank you to each of the sixteen (16) churches that participated. Along with the food and supplies, $525.00 was given in gift cards.

We wish to thank Mrs. Ann Dora Rollins and Mrs. Betty Waid (Mountain Springs) and Ann Dora’s daughter, Wanda McCarver, for assisting with the collection.    These ladies checked food items to be certain of current dates (outdated cans and boxes are not sent); they separated and packed the food and supplies into
cardboard boxes, making the boxes ready to be transported to Thomasville. They worked tirelessly, and they are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support of Baptist Children’s Homes of
North Carolina.

Hello Associational Mission Partners,

The Baptist Children's Homes 2014 food drive is wrapping up this week as food collected from mission partners like you is being transferred to campuses across North Carolina to be placed in cottage food pantries and used to feed hungry children and house parents. Each of you have played a major role in the 2014 food drive by allowing the use of your association's media resources and staff to promote and encourage your churches and individuals to participate in the collection of food and food cards that will benefit children in care at our 19 locations in NC. Thank you for allowing God to use you and others to touch the lives of hurting children.

It has been my privilege to partner with each of you in this annual mission project that has brought smiles to our children and filled their tummies with healthy food at meal times and snack times; on picnics, field trips, and trips to the mountains and the beach. You can be proud that you have enabled these children to eat well and to discover what it feels like to be part of a Christian family at meal time.

Please know that I am proud to represent BCH in the Southeast Region of NC and to be your partner in missions and ministries that bring glory to God as we share hope...rooted in God's Word, and in Jesus Christ...that changes lives. Please let me know how I may serve you, your churches, your people in the coming months.

Blessed to be His servant,
Danny Hawkins
