North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO) is a special offering received during the month of September that supports the ministries of NC Baptist Men, Church Planting, Mission Camps, Associational Projects and Mobilization Ministry Projects. NCMO is your opportunity to impact lostness as God accomplishes many wonderful things through these various ministries.

The theme for 2014 is "Choose Now" and the offering goal is $2.1 million. The theme verses are Luke 21:10-13,

Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.(NKJV)

Other translations end with "this will be your opportunity to bear witness." This passage reminds us that the time is drawing near for the Lord's return, and we must "choose now" to be a witness for Him through our life, love, support and service.

Will you choose now to give?

Mobilizing members from hundreds of churches—and coordinating their work to accomplish kingdom work is what Baptists on Mission (NC Baptist Men) is all about.

NC Baptist Men (NCBM) involves thousands of men, women and student volunteers in 14 ministries. One of the most visible ministries is the response to disasters through the ministry of Disaster Relief.

Disaster Relief

Consider that NC Baptist Disaster Relief has trained more than 14,000 volunteers for disaster response. This past year, thousands of NCBM volunteers prepared more than 600,000 meals and carried out hundreds of clean-up and clear-out projects.

Such large-scale response calls for heavy equipment, careful coordination, advance planning and motivated volunteers who know what to do. Volunteers responded to Hurricane Sandy, served in Haiti, Louisiana, West Virginia and a number of locations in our state.

NCBM Ministries

Baptists on Mission (NC Baptist Men) operate two mission camps: Red Springs in Robeson County and Shelby in Cleveland County, North Carolina. These camps host a variety of men, women and student volunteers throughout the year, and have a dramatic impact in and around Robeson and Cleveland counties as projects continue over time.

Projects range from renovating a needy family's house, patching a leaky roof for a senior adult, installing a wheelchair ramp for a handicapped person, evangelistic visits in communities or Vacation Bible schools or sports camps.

Red Springs Mission Camp is led by Larry Osborne, and Shelby Mission Camp has a new leader for 2014, David Brown. Brown is passionate about his new service and encourages you to choose now to give to the North Carolina Missions Offering saying,

“The NC Mission Offering is our lifeline of support.”

If you are interested in scheduling a group to volunteer at one of these missions camps contact Mary Mountz with NC Baptist Men (NCBM) for more information.
