I am amazed at what God has done for us this year with the Donna Pittman Christmas Toy Store. He never fails to provide for the needs of those who ask. God is good all the time, and we just need to acknowledge Him. The Toy Store was able to supply the needs of 70 families this year, which included 205 children. Because of the out pouring of love, prayers and donations of Toys, along with momentary donations from many of our local churches, we were able to supply New Bibles and boxes of food, along with toys and refreshments for the children and their families. We had 23 bikes and 7 small riding toys also.
We had approximately 100 volunteers this year, with wonderful Counselors to offer the plan of Salvation, which is what the toy store is all about. We had a couple to accept the Lord during their counseling, along with some new commitments to the lord. Praise Jesus! Also to our amazement, our volunteers were presented with beautiful red shirts to wear throughout the day, complements of Mrs. Marie Wilkins and Mr. Mike Pittman. We are very thankful for Oakland and Lakeview Baptist for their Acteens and Youth groups coming in on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 to help price and set up the Toy Store for us. Once again, God showed us all what we could do when we work together as a Christian Team. God said he would never leave us.
A special thank you to the team at the Union Baptist Association for all their support and help. I also want to especially thank the Hopewell Baptist team, who joined me this year, for helping with the clean-up of the Toy Store room. All we have to do is to ask in His Name.
Derhonda Jenkins, a teacher who worked with Donna Pittman at Petersburg Elementary School in Pageland SC, served as a volunteer at the 2010 Donna Pittman Christmas Toy Store, and realized then that she wanted to start a Toy Store. On December 3, 2011, she opened a Toy Store in Chesterfield County, South Carolina and served 21 families. She donated left over toys to the Donna Pittman Christmas Toy Store and for this, we are very thankful. This is proof that the effects of the Donna Pittman Toy Store are far reaching.
The extra toys from the Donna Pittman Christmas Toy Store were donated to a combined ministry of Mill Creek Baptist and First Baptist Church Coeburn. Coeburn Virginia is a small coal mining town that no longer mines coal and work is very hard to find. Mill Creek Baptist will deliver the toys.
May God bless each and every one of you this Christmas Season. Once again, thank you every one for everything you did for The Donna Pittman Christmas Toy Store. Hope to see you next year.
Love Each One of YOU!
Teresa Polk, Toy Store Director
