Churches throughout the world are struggling with what style of worship is appropriate for their setting. Many churches find themselves dying, stuck to old forms of worship that once were very meaningful, yet now don’t seem to engage people in meaningful worship nor speak a language that the unchurched can understand. In the 50s and 60s, worship was similar among Southern Baptist churches and most sang from a common source - the Baptist Hymnal. Today, things have changed drastically and church leaders are struggling to determine what their church’s corporate worship should look like. There are many factors to consider in this quest. The Worship Summits will help leaders dive into some very important issues impacting corporate worship:
- What is the biblical basis of worship?
- What does it mean to worship God with all our being?
- What role should personal preferences play in worship?
- How should culture impact corporate worship?
- How should a missionary mindset impact corporate worship?
- How is worship and discipleship intertwined?
- Is unified worship the best way to go?
- What style of worship is appropriate for my church?
- If a church does sense God’s leadership to change, how can that be done in a healthy, God-honoring, people-loving manner with biblical and musical excellence?
The Worship Summits, together with the Worship Leader Boot Camps, offer a total package of training and foundation for worship renewal in the local church. Conceivably, a church could send the senior pastor and worship team to the Worship Leader Boot Camp, and several other people interested in worship or instrumental in leading worship renewal in the church, to the Worship Summit. This would ground a leadership core in your church in gaining vision for renewal and equipping them with the tools for change. This could be a major step in achieving renewal in the church.
Target Audience: Worship leaders, worship pastors, ministers of music, churches desiring to transition to a more blended style of worship, churches with limited musical resources
Brief Description: So many churches want to be progressive in worship, but the leadership is frustrated by the lack of musicians and other resources to successfully lead their congregations. This training event will help leaders find relief. Intense training in how to plan and implement worship in the local church. Strong focus on how to lead worship with limited musical resources.

Church & Family Connect presents
Building Faith Filled Families Conference
September 19-20, 2014
Lakeview Baptist Church
Today’s families struggle to keep up with the demands of life. School, homework, appointments, technology and practices fill their days. Many parents believe they are inadequate to fulfill God’s mandate to disciple their children. Youth can become apathetic about their faith and large numbers of students are leaving the church in college. Parents may understand the need for faith development in their children’s lives but wonder how and when they can disciple their children when life is so busy.
Pastors and church leaders, join us Friday to learn how to equip and partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children. Parents, join us Saturday to explore why discipleship is so important for your family and learn practical ways to disciple your children.
The deadline to register is September 12, 2014.
Saturday will include Discipling by Age Group break outs in the afternoon. Attendees will choose one of the following break out options:
