WMU Monthly News from Betsy Ross
Missions: It’s not just a project; it’s a way of life.
As we look to the New Year, a lot of us will make resolutions to change things or start over in some area of our lives. Would you be willing to help someone else get a fresh start? We’re asking you as churches, women’s groups and individuals to partner with us and make it possible to reach more women in need through the Christian Women’s Job Corps.
We’ve reached out to targeted groups of women who need a fresh start and on February 8, 2018 will hold the Christian Women’s Job Corps banquet. This will allow us an opportunity to present the Gospel and introduce the women to the program. On a monthly basis, women enrolled in CWJC attend Bible studies, fitness classes, and sessions to teach life skills, interview preparation and finances. They are mentored by Christian women and are able to have a support system as they transition to better circumstances.
How can we each help? First and foremost, prayer! To provide the ongoing program, we need help with annual fundraisers, additional mentors and instructors. For the February banquet we need set up and cleanup crews, kitchen help, servers, monetary donations for supplies and desserts for the meal. This is a great way to help with a local mission opportunity and have a fun night with your fellow sisters in Christ.
Please pray about CWJC and how you or your group might be involved. May we all enter the New Year with the mission of spreading the Good News!
In His Service,
Betsy Ross, WMU Director
