We regret to inform you that the Sunday School Conference scheduled for Monday, May 10, to be led by Dr. Thom Rainer, has been postponed. Dr. Rainer's home was severely damaged as a result of the flooding in Nashville, and this and his other duties at LifeWay resulting from the flooding prevent him from keeping this commitment. We will re-schedule at the earliest possible date. Please help inform the members at your church.
The Sunday School Department of Union Baptist Association is happy to announce Dr. Thom Rainer, President and Chief Executive Officer of LifeWay Christian Resources, will be our guest speaker on May 10, 2010. Dr. Rainer's theme will be Sunday School in a Transformational Church. The subject matter will be drawn from some very up-to-date research that Dr. Rainer and Dr. Ed Stetzer have been doing. The meeting will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church. There will be no cost involved for attending this event.
Dr. Rainer has authored or co-authored nearly twenty books that mostly deal with church health and church growth. He has served the Lord in many capacities, including pastor, professor and corporate executive. Dr. Rainer has also been very active serving on the boards of such entities as the North American Mission Board and Ephesians 4 Ministries. Dr. Rainer has been married to Nellie Jo King since 1977 and they have three grown sons.
We're hoping our churches will encourage all their Sunday School leaders to attend this event which will offer valuable information and encouragement. A bookstore will be available featuring many great resources. Please place this meeting on your schedule today!
