Baptist Children's Homes Food RoundUp

Hello friends of children,

The 2010 Annual Food Drive will be held the entire month of April again this year. Food will be collected April 26-30 at the Union Baptist Association. I want to thank all of our loyal pastors, church staff, administrative assistants, churches, WMU, Baptist Men, circles and SS classes, small groups and friends of children for your wonderful support in the past. Last year, statewide, we fell $200,000 short of our collections in 2008. In 2008, we asked that donors help make up a $150,000 deficit due to the loss of the school lunch program for BCH children.

We want to meet every child's need physically, emotionally and spiritually. I am requesting that every Union Baptist Association church appoint a BCH food drive chairperson who will enlist five people in the congregation to help plan and promote the 2010 BCH Food Drive in their church. I ask because I have seen the difference it makes when the congregations are given support for this worthy mission when Pastors and laypeople provide leadership to their congregations. I encourage you to be creative and deliberate about helping hurting children and broken families in the southeastern region.

As a pastor I learned that my people have a need to be used of God by touching the life of a child or a family in need. I hope each of you will pray about participating in the 2010 BCH food drive. I deeply appreciate each of you and all you and your people do in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Your partnership with BCHNC and commitment to help us bring peace and healing to hurting children in Southeastern NC is vital to our mission to place these children and their families before Christ. In order to maximize the potential for our children please collect food the entire month of April. The tentative pick-up date for Union Baptist Association will be on May 4th.
