Energy Assistance Program
"formerly known as LIEAP or Energy Check"
Changes to the Program
- We will start taking applications and interviewing for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program on December 1, 2014.
- In order to apply, at least one person in the household must be at least 60, or someone in the house must be disabled and receiving services through (DAAS) Division of Aging & Adult Services (Note: other eligibility criteria also apply)
- If an application is approved, Energy assistance payments will be paid directly to the heating provider (such as your power, gas, fuel oil company). Energy payments are not designed to provide assistance during a CRISIS (i.e. prevent disconnection).
- Starting January 2015 all households may apply for the Energy Assistance Program. First full week of interviewing for all households will start January 5, 2015
